Hazel Grove Chord

The Bishop of Chester (left) and Canon C A Barton from Norbury Parish Church are pictured at the official opening of the Hazel Grove Chord on 29/04/1986. This connected the line from Stockport to Buxton with the line from Manchester to New Mills Central allowing trains to go south from Stockport to the Hope Valley and Sheffield.
