Looking north east across the town centre from the air. At the bottom the A6, Wellington Road South runs left/right with the bearpit at far left. The A6 passed the Essoldo Cinema, St Petersgate and the library. Diagonally from the bearpit is Merseyway, erected over the River Mersey and leading to Portwood with its electric generating cooling tower. The dark church under the cooling tower is St Mary's. The river leading from image top is the River Tame (joining the River Goyt in the image but not visible to form the Mersey).
